Seven years, two kids, and a pandemic later…

Looking back to nearly eight years ago, I’m overwhelmed with how much my life has changed. My greatest and most memorable times, are happening now. It’s a funny thing to look back on previous travel adventures and reminisce only to realize that although I’m not planning epic vacations or spending my days out and about on little food adventures, I’m experiencing the greatest magic daily. It is happening inside my home, with my kids; whether it’s having post-dinner dance parties or cleaning up random little creations scattered across the room hourly.

I once used my leisurely time in the evening to hang out with friends, read, write, and explore New York City, my former home. So much has changed since my last post. I’ve been enjoying the best years of my life, albeit, the hardest too. In 2015, I had my first child. Just as I was gaining my footing back into postpartum life, we decided to say goodbye to NYC and settle in San Diego. Our new home base made room for lots of new close-to-home adventures which helped parting from the city I truly loved a lot easier. We suddenly had endless beaches and mountains to explore, new restaurants to try, and just as we were feeling adjusted to this much easier (and a whole lot sunnier) lifestyle, we bought our first home. I gave birth to our second child shortly thereafter. And then, the world shut down…

In the last year, I feel like I’ve gained my footing once again. I’ve been planning our first big adventure as a family of four and I’m excited to be writing again…I’d love to hear from you! How have you coped with big lifestyle changes? Traveling with kids?
